Rifleloupe: Webflow to Shopify Migration with Bilingual Catalog, Adverts Management & Classifieds for a Premium Firearms Platform
To enhance functionality on the platform, AddWeb Solution migrated a curated firearms catalog site from Webflow to Shopify, preserving both the look and feel of the site while significantly improving functionality across bilingual support, ad management, classifieds, and catalog operations. The platform has been developed using the features of the Sales Layer product information management, JSS, Translate & Adapt for Spanish and English language support. It is now a powerful, catalog-first firearms destination for serious buyers, firearm researchers, private sellers, and firearm enthusiasts in Spain and around the world.

The Business Needs
Understanding the Challenge of Migrating a Complex Firearms Catalog Platform Without Disrupting Brand Identity or User Experience
An overview of the complexities involved in moving a large firearm catalog platform from one system to another without disrupting brand identity or user experience.A brief overview of the complexities of moving a large firearm catalog platform from one system to another without disrupting brand identity or user experience.
Rifleloupe is an expert, trustworthy, professionally presented firearms catalog platform for serious buyers, private sellers, researchers, and firearm enthusiasts who value a premium digital experience. The platform was originally built on Webflow, but has now hit the wall of its scalability, content management, advertising management, and multi-lingual capabilities.
The transition was not just a simple move to another platform, but had to ensure the brand’s existing identity and visual style were retained and that the audience felt familiar and trusted with the new platform. Any variation in appearance, feel, or content presentation could jeopardize the trust and knowledge the brand had gained with its specialized audience. From the design of the migration, it had to be invisible to end users while providing a lot of functional benefits under the hood.
There was an added complexity of the platform being bilingual. Each page, product listing, and content had to be correctly translated and correctly presented in both languages, and without causing a “disjointed or inconsistent experience” for visitors switching between the two languages.
Shopify was expected to be a “catalog only” store with no online checkout, something that would necessitate careful design to ensure that it was able to provide the same level of richness to the online catalog browsing experience that is typical of e-commerce platforms. The inclusion of ads management and classifieds added another level of complexity, necessitating custom solutions within the Shopify platform to meet the specific needs of the Rifleloupe marketplace.
About Our Client: JC Exposito, Owner of Rifleloupe, Spain, engaged AddWeb Solution to execute the complete Webflow to Shopify migration, maintaining full design fidelity, implementing bilingual support, and enhancing the platform with advert management, classifieds, and improved catalog functionality for a specialist firearms audience.
Our Approach
Executing a Design-Faithful, Functionally Enhanced Webflow to Shopify Migration for a Specialist Firearms Catalog
AddWeb Solution began with a comprehensive Figma documentation phase, mapping every existing Webflow page, component, and design element before a single line of Shopify code was written. This documentation-first approach was critical — it created a definitive reference for every design decision throughout the migration, ensuring nothing was lost or approximated in the transition between platforms.
The Shopify build was structured on the Horizon theme as the foundation, with extensive customization applied to faithfully replicate Rifleloupe’s existing visual identity and page layouts. Every page was rebuilt in Shopify with pixel-level attention to the original Webflow design — typography, spacing, color, imagery treatment, and component behavior were all matched to the documented Figma specifications before sign-off.
Sales Layer was integrated as the product information management system, providing a scalable, structured approach to catalog data management that Webflow had been unable to support. This integration gave Rifleloupe a robust backend for managing their firearms catalog at scale, with clean data flows between Sales Layer and the Shopify frontend.
The bilingual configuration was implemented using Shopify’s Translate & Adapt plugin, with Spanish set as the primary language and English as the secondary, ensuring all content, product listings, and interface elements were accurately translated and consistently presented across both language versions of the platform. The Search and Discovery filter was configured to support intuitive catalog browsing across Rifleloupe’s specialist product range.
Adverts management and classifieds functionality was developed as a custom solution within the Shopify environment, one of the most complex requirements of the project, given Shopify’s native architecture is not designed for classified or advert-based marketplace models. JSS and Powerful Form were used alongside custom development to deliver this functionality within the platform’s catalog-only, no-checkout configuration.
Open Graph metadata was configured across all pages to ensure accurate, visually appropriate social sharing previews — important for a platform whose audience actively shares and discusses firearms catalog content across specialist communities.
