For those looking for a structured, personalized, and peaceful journey into yoga, meditation, and breathwork, Svapurna is a wellness brand that provides guided meditation, breathwork, and yoga classes. But over the years, users have come to expect more from wellness apps, and those who practice yoga and meditation especially want a digital experience that’s as considerate, streamlined, and distraction-free as the practice itself. A poorly designed app is anything but a good user experience, and it’s worse than that; it undermines the brand’s fundamental promise of peacefulness and wellness.
The client required a structure that would allow him to offer structured yoga and meditation courses in an app-like manner on all devices—mobile, tablet, and desktop—without having to develop separate native applications for each platform. A progressive web app was the ideal architectural solution, but it had to be developed with a performance, offline, and user experience level equal to native apps.
The need for offline access was a must. Content enthusiasts like yoga and meditation practitioners often rely on their content when the internet is not available, during travels, during Yoga sessions, and in quiet outdoor spaces. If the user could not download and use the content without being connected to the internet, then a lot of its target audience would be lost at the very moment they needed it.
The subscription revenue model introduced commercial complexity to the build as it necessitates a secure and reliable payment and subscription management system to support recurring billing, premium content plan management, and access control. Since Mollie was the preferred payment solution for the German market and WooCommerce Subscriptions was to handle the subscription layer, the payment architecture had to be robust, compliant with the GDPR rules, and easily integrated into the PWA experience.
The feature requirements for the platform expanded to be quite complex, with features such as multilingual support (from German), personalized content features (e.g., Favorites, Recently Used) and a custom playlist builder.

Building a Premium, Offline-Capable Wellness PWA on Flutter and WordPress with Subscription Commerce
AddWeb Solution approached the Svapurna project with a wellness-first design and development philosophy; every architectural, UX, and feature decision was evaluated against the question of whether it would deliver or detract from the calm, personalized, distraction-free experience the brand required.
The PWA was built using Flutter for the frontend application layer and WordPress as the content management backend, a combination that gave Svapurna the best of both worlds: a high-performance, app-like frontend experience and a flexible, easy-to-manage content backend that Gero and the Svapurna team could update without technical dependency. The WordPress backend was configured to serve as the content hub for all meditation, breathwork, and yoga courses, with a clean API layer connecting it to the Flutter PWA frontend.
Offline content availability was implemented as a core architectural feature — not an afterthought. The offline download functionality was built to allow users to download specific courses, sessions, and content for access without internet connectivity, with the downloaded content stored securely on the device and accessible through the same clean interface as online content.
The audio and video player was built for seamless, high-quality playback across all device types, with controls, progress tracking, and interface design calibrated for a wellness context where simplicity and calm are paramount. The custom playlist builder was developed to give users agency over their practice, enabling them to create personalized sequences of meditation and yoga content tailored to their needs and preferences.
The subscription system was architected using WooCommerce Subscriptions for plan management and Mollie for payment processing, chosen specifically for its strong support of the German market and SEPA payment methods. The full subscription flow, from plan selection through payment to content access provisioning, was integrated into the PWA experience without friction or jarring transitions between the app and payment layers.
Personalized content features, including Favorites, Recently Used, and content recommendations, were developed to give returning users a tailored experience that improved with each session. German multilingual support was implemented as the primary language layer, with the architecture designed to support additional languages as Svapurna expands into new markets.
GDPR compliance was integrated throughout the platform, covering data collection, storage, consent management, and user data handling in alignment with German and EU privacy regulations.
