The traditional method of developing Drupal required a lot of coding skills, which placed a lot of burden on the content creators and marketers who were required to develop and adjust layouts on their own. Organizations were expensive to be dependent on the developer resources regarding the rudimentary content update and page creation, reducing the time-to-market and restricting creativity.
It was to provide a solution that would democratize the process of building websites, and at the same time not to sacrifice on the power and security that any enterprise would need. The content teams should be allowed to produce professional and responsive pages independently on their schedule, whereas the developers should be allowed to have architectural control and code quality standards.
To meet these demands, we developed Site Studio (Cohesion), a powerful visual page builder that works with Drupal 10 without any issues. The content creation experience is changed with the help of this platform, which is built on a drag-and-drop experience that is supported by a powerful React-based user interface, API gateway services, and full-fledged developer tools, which make the content experience scalable and maintainable.
About Our Client: Steve Richards, a progressive United Kingdom manager, had realized the necessity of having a visual content management system that would be able to expand with the increasing digital requirements and retain teams flexible and independent in the content operations.
Our Approach
Engineering a Visual Revolution in Content Management
We designed an all-inclusive solution that combines the ease of no-code page construction and the ability to create pages using an enterprise-grade Drupal infrastructure. We concentrated on the vision of offering a common development ecosystem in which content creators and developers could develop without treading on the feet of each other.
The technical solution involved adopting assets of a React application to API dependencies and direct bundling of modules based on Drupal, applying advanced webpack-based optimization of assets to the web and developing a component-based framework to form both visual and code-based customization.
We set up DDEV using Docker containerization to provide the same local development experience, we built full test suites like testing Jest and Cypress and we established CI/CD pipelines to maintain the quality of the code using PHPStan static analysis and automated testing pipelines.
