HayCart: Shopify Plus-Powered Social Commerce Platform with Multi-Channel Integration
AddWeb Solution delivered a comprehensive Shopify Plus social commerce platform for HayCart, a globally recognized wellness and self-development publisher selling physical products including books, cards, and journals, enabling seamless commerce across TikTok Shop, Meta, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, with AI-powered discovery integration across Google AI Mode and OpenAI/ChatGPT. Built on a modular, API-driven architecture with decoupled channel connectors, PRH Master Catalog integration, GA4 analytics governance, and fulfillment orchestration, the platform operates as a dedicated social commerce engine independent of the existing storefront, delivering scalable, multi-channel revenue attribution and centralized order management across every social surface HayCart’s audience uses.

The Business Needs
Selling Across Social Media and AI Discovery Surfaces Requires More Than a Standard Shopify Setup
HayCart is one of the world’s leading publishers of wellness, self-development, and spiritual content—with a passionate, loyal audience that actively engages with its books, card decks, and journals across every major social platform. As social commerce has matured from a novelty into a primary purchase channel for this audience, HayCart identified a critical opportunity: meeting buyers exactly where they already are—on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube—and converting that engagement into direct transactions without friction.
The challenge was not simply connecting a Shopify store to social channels. HayCart required a purpose-built commerce engine that could ingest orders from multiple social platforms simultaneously, synchronize a large product catalog managed through Penguin Random House’s Master Catalog system, route fulfillment correctly across providers, and attribute revenue accurately to each channel—all within a modular, API-driven architecture designed for long-term scalability and future channel expansion.
Emerging AI-powered discovery surfaces added further complexity. Google AI Mode and OpenAI/ChatGPT are increasingly influencing purchase decisions for books and wellness content—and HayCart needed its product catalog to be surfaced correctly on these platforms, positioning the brand at the frontier of AI-driven commerce discovery before competitors recognized the opportunity.
The existing eCommerce storefront—built on Magento—was not the right foundation for this social commerce expansion. A clean, independent Shopify Plus commerce engine was needed as the MVP, with the existing storefront left intact, to allow the social commerce platform to be built, tested, and scaled without the risk of disrupting HayCart’s primary sales channel.
The absence of centralized analytics governance, proper UTM attribution, and channel-wise revenue reporting meant HayCart lacked the visibility needed to optimize spend and performance across a multi-channel social commerce operation. Without a proper data layer, every channel decision would be based on incomplete information.
About Our Client: Mr. Mugil Sharma, Senior Product Manager, engaged AddWeb Solution to architect and deliver HayCart’s complete Shopify Plus social commerce platform—a modular, API-driven MVP covering multi-channel social commerce, AI discovery integration, PRH catalog management, fulfillment orchestration, and analytics governance across a 20-week engagement.
Our Approach
Architecting a Modular, API-Driven Social Commerce Engine Built for Multi-Channel Scale and AI Discovery Readiness
AddWeb Solution began with a comprehensive architecture and discovery phase—working from the approved MVP backlog to define the full platform architecture across five distinct layers: Commerce, Storefront, Integration, Fulfillment, and Analytics & Governance. Each layer was designed as a modular, independently deployable component to ensure the platform could scale to additional channels and capabilities in future phases without requiring architectural rework.
Shopify Plus was selected as the core commerce engine—providing the product catalog, pricing, inventory, and order management infrastructure on which every other platform layer depended. The Shopify Admin API and webhooks formed the integration backbone, with all channel connectors, data transformations, and order ingestion flows built against these APIs using an event-driven, idempotency-safe architecture that ensured reliability at scale.
A custom Data Transformation Layer and Product Import Service were developed in PHP and Laravel to manage the ingestion pipeline from Penguin Random House’s Master Catalog—handling data normalization, schema mapping between PRH’s catalog format and Shopify’s product data structure, validation, error handling, and product creation and updates via the Shopify Admin API. This was one of the most technically demanding elements of the engagement, given the volume, complexity, and formatting of PRH’s master catalog data.
Decoupled channel connectors were built and deployed for each social commerce surface—TikTok Shop, Meta/Facebook/Instagram, YouTube Shop, Google AI Mode, and OpenAI/ChatGPT—with each connector independently managing catalog sync, order ingestion, webhook handling, API throttling, and platform-specific compliance requirements. TikTok shipping label compliance was implemented as part of the fulfillment layer, alongside AfterShip tracking integration and order routing to fulfillment providers via API and SFTP.
The analytics and governance layer was built on GA4 with full eCommerce event tracking, UTM attribution, channel source tagging, and revenue attribution rules—giving HayCart accurate, channel-wise revenue reporting across every social commerce surface. OneTrust cookie compliance, Acoustic email automation, Zendesk support ticket integration, and Redshift data warehouse streaming were implemented as ancillary services completing the platform’s enterprise integration stack.
Agentic AI was integrated to support AI-powered discovery across Google AI Mode and OpenAI/ChatGPT surfaces, with Google Gemini utilized as part of the AI integration architecture—positioning HayCart’s catalog for discovery in the emerging AI-commerce landscape before most publishers had even begun exploring these channels.
The Solution
What It Delivers for HayCart
A Commerce Engine Built for Social, Not Adapted for It
Rather than forcing social commerce through an existing storefront, HayCart now has a dedicated Shopify Plus commerce engine purpose-built for multi-channel social selling—clean, independent, and architecturally ready to scale without touching the existing Magento site.
Sell Where the Audience Already Is
TikTok Shop, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube commerce integrations mean HayCart’s books, cards, and journals are purchasable directly within the platforms where their wellness audience is already engaged—removing the friction of redirecting buyers to an external storefront.
Discovery on AI Surfaces Before Competitors Arrive
Google AI Mode and OpenAI/ChatGPT integration positions HayCart’s catalog at the frontier of AI-powered commerce discovery—capturing book buyers who are increasingly turning to AI assistants for purchase recommendations before search competitors have adapted.
A Catalog That Stays in Sync Without Manual Intervention
The PRH Master Catalog integration means HayCart’s full product inventory—books, card decks, journals—is automatically ingested, validated, normalized, and published to Shopify and all connected channels without manual data entry or catalog management overhead.
Orders From Every Channel, Managed in One Place
Multi-channel order ingestion with centralized fulfillment orchestration means every TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube order flows into a single management layer—routed correctly to fulfillment providers and tracked through AfterShip without channel-specific manual handling
Revenue Attribution That Actually Tells You What’s Working
GA4 with UTM attribution and channel-wise revenue tagging means HayCart’s marketing and commerce teams can see exactly which social channel is driving revenue—and make confident budget allocation decisions based on accurate, complete data.
A Platform Ready for What Comes Next
Modular, decoupled channel connectors mean adding new social platforms, personalization layers, or advanced AI discovery capabilities in future phases is an extension—not a rebuild.
Enterprise Integrations That Complete the Ecosystem
Zendesk for support, Acoustic for email automation, Redshift for data warehouse streaming, Avalara for tax, and OneTrust for cookie compliance mean the platform operates within HayCart’s existing enterprise technology ecosystem without creating isolated data silos.

Final Outcome
Delivering a Production-Ready Shopify Plus Social Commerce Engine Across Five Channels and AI Discovery Surfaces in 20 Weeks
Through AddWeb Solution’s comprehensive platform architecture and development engagement, HayCart now operates a dedicated Shopify Plus social commerce engine that is live across TikTok Shop, Facebook Shop, Instagram Shop, YouTube Shop, Google AI Mode, and OpenAI/ChatGPT discovery surfaces—with centralized order management, fulfillment orchestration, and accurate channel-wise revenue attribution providing complete operational visibility across every active commerce channel.
The PRH Master Catalog integration has eliminated manual product data management—books, card decks, journals, and all associated product data are automatically ingested, validated, normalized, and synchronized across the platform and all connected channels without overhead. The modular, decoupled channel connector architecture means HayCart can expand to additional social platforms, personalization layers, and advanced AI capabilities in future phases as an extension of the existing platform—not a replacement of it.
The enterprise integration stack—Zendesk, Acoustic, Redshift, Avalara, and OneTrust—ensures the social commerce platform operates within HayCart’s existing technology ecosystem without creating data silos or compliance gaps. With the platform at 100% completion and the next phase focused on a customized maintenance plan and a potential Magento to Shopify migration of the primary storefront, HayCart and AddWeb Solution are positioned for a long-term, expanding partnership built on the strongest social commerce MVP foundation in the publisher’s digital history.
